From the bush to the city, Aussies still love a good Chinese. And the Noble Terrace – or the Terrace as it is affectionately known – in the Cox’s Road Mall is no exception.

Owned and operated by Jason for the past two and a half years, a relatively short time considering the 20 year history of the restaurant, the Noble Terrace is well known and highly regarded in the community. “The restaurant is very famous in the area,” says Jason who believes it’s the legacy of freshly made dishes and authentic recipes that have kept the North Ryde community dining in or taking away over the years.

Jason worked in the Noble Terraces sister restaurant under the tutelage of Peter, the previous owner of the Noble Terrace. After a few months, Jason bought the lease and the rest is history.

Unlike many Chinese restaurants that use MSG as a flavour enhancer throughout their dishes, the Noble Terrace prides itself on being additive free, relying solely on fresh ingredients and 50 years plus combined experience in the kitchen to keep the standard and quality so high.

Opened 6 days a week for lunch and dinner (closed Monday), the Noble Terrace supports local community organisations and schools through the donation of vouchers for any fundraising initiatives, with the lucky winner tucking into a Noble Terrace banquet of their choice.

Jason believes the younger members of the North Ryde community are missing out on a treat their parents grew up on. “The younger generation will now go to the larger shopping malls because there is more choice.” But with a plethora of traditional Chinese favourites on the menu like shredded beef in Peking style, Mongolian Lamb, San Chow Bow, salt and pepper bean-curd and mainstay sweet and sour pork, plus a wide selection of fresh or fried dim sum, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

So why not come down to the Noble Terrace and work your way through your favourite Chinese dishes? It’s the best poorly kept secret in the North Ryde area. So is the deep fried apple roll – like a piece of apple pie but deep fried! It’s a taste sensation!
